The HALO-LED™ is a patented in-duct air and surface sanitizing system designed for HVAC installation utilizing RGF’s REME-LED™ technology in combination with ionization to address a wide range of air pollutants.
Installed in the air conditioning duct, the HALO-LED is designed to control microbial contaminants, including airborne and surface bacteria, viruses, and mold. It also reduces smoke, odors, VOC’s, allergens, dust, and particulates. The HALO-LED™ is the first mercury free, active air purification system certified ‘Zero Ozone’ in accordance with UL-867.
The REME-LED™ cell utilizes an LED generated, high intensity UV light targeted on a hydrated, quad-metallic catalyst to promote the conversion of naturally occurring water vapor into airborne molecules of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2). This is a simple oxidation reaction that changes water molecules (H2O) into large numbers of active molecules of H2O2. Molecules of H2O2 that are continually produced and suspended in air are effective at inactivating all types of harmful bacteria, viruses and mold present in the air and on airborne particles.
The HALO-LED™ also includes an automatic, self-cleaning ion generator designed to reduce airborne particulate by coagulating ultrafine airborne particles making them easier for filters to remove.
Some of the operational advantages associated with the HALO-LED™ include unlimited cycling capability designed to turn on and off with an HVAC system and a long-life replaceable LED UV-C cell module with 2.5x longer life than UV-C mercury lamp technologies.
RGF’s REME-HALO is a patented in-duct air and surface sanitizing system designed for HVAC installation that combines Photohydroionization® and ionization technologies.
The REME-HALO includes a patented, fully adjustable Photohydroionization® REME Cell along with an ion generator designed to reduce airborne particulate by coagulating ultrafine airborne particles making them easier for filters to remove.
The REME Cell inside the REME-HALO utilizes a broad wavelength UV lamp that projects UV energy at 100-300 nm onto a proprietary quad-metallic hydrophilic catalyst surface to promote the conversion of naturally occurring water vapor into airborne molecules of Hydrogen Peroxide. This is a simple oxidation reaction that changes water molecules (H2O) into large numbers of active molecules of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2). Molecules of Hydrogen Peroxide that are suspended in air are effective at inactivating all types of harmful bacteria, viruses, mold, and yeast that may be present in the air and on particles. In addition, molecules of Hydrogen Peroxide fall out of the air and effectively reduce surface contamination. Hydrogen Peroxide molecules also reduce volatile organic compounds and odors in treated spaces.
The combination of Photohydroionization and ionization in the REME-HALO provides the most advanced means for inactivating all types of air and surface microbial hazards and reducing airborne particulates, including allergens and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC’s).
Scientific studies have been conducted to determine the reductions of various pathogenic microorganisms exposed to environments treated using the Photohydroionization. The levels of Hydrogen Peroxide produced by the REME-HALO reported in these studies ranged from 18 ppbv to 24 ppbv. These levels are well below all regulatory standards and reflect naturally occurring levels in outdoor air, meaning the technology is safe to operate continuously in occupied environments.
RGF’s patented Photohydroionization® (PHI Cell®) technology utilizes a broad wavelength UV lamp that projects UV energy at 100-300 nm onto a proprietary quad-metallic hydrophilic catalyst surface to promote the conversion of naturally occurring water vapor into airborne molecules of Hydrogen Peroxide (H2O2). The levels of Hydrogen Peroxide produced by the PHI Cell® reported in these studies ranged from 18 ppbv to 24 ppbv. These levels are well below all regulatory standards and pose no health risks but is still effective in eliminating the pathogenic microorganisms. The technology is safe to operate continuously in occupied environments.
